The 5 Terrible Mists-- ChapterTwo

   "Now where did we stop last time, AngelKit?" RaccoonStar asked, opening a small book made of lizard skin and smudged blueberries that were painted on the front to look like a sky. There were five white stars painted on by whiteberries, an herb that grows pure white berries at the very tip of the stem. Underneath them was white fog which was also whiteberries smudged above the berry painted water.
   "The part with the five kitties!" AngelKit mewed. She was partly right.
   "The Five Terrible Mists?" RaccoonStar teased, looking amongst his crowd of kits. AngelKit, MouseKit, SpottedKit, CreamKit, and RiverKit.
   "Te' five tewible fogs!" MouseKit said. He was the smallest of all the kits and also the youngest, so he couldn't really talk.
   "Well, I guess we'll begin now!" RaccoonStar said, clearing his throat out, nudging his book to the proper position, and sitting himself down on a large boulder above the kits and by a bonfire, "Once apon a time...."

Moonlight Clan----The Five Terrible Mists
                   CHAPTER ONE
   FeatherStar was strolling over to the door when SkunkPaw came racing into the Elder's hut, running right into her.
   "Oh my StarSpirit, I'm so sorry! I hope you'll forgive me, because they're here! It's definately them! They're only a mile away but ShortTail, with his great eyesight, saw three greys and two whites with black markings!" SkunkPaw exclaimed. He was panting and coughing roughly. FeatherStar didn't say anything because she was so alarmed, but IceClaw could see the hair on the back of her pelt stand up. After about five seconds, she turned to IceClaw, but she couldn't read his face. Was he frustrated at MistClan's attempt to get back at them? Was he scared that MistClan would actually take them down this time? But FeatherStar saw something else in his eyes. Joy. She couldn't see why he would be happy about the seventh attack that MistClan had tried on MoonlightClan.
   "Get ready. Tell SilverHeart to hide the kits and Queens and leave no trace of them behind. Then go to SonicMoon and tell him to pack as many herbs and casts as possible and to go to the Elder's hut." He said. He knew he shouldn't be ordering around FeatherStar's clan, but he was so excited about actually fighting the Five Terrible Mists that he couldn't stand it, and FeatherStar let him be.
   "I want the Mists to stay a mile away. If they come any closer, Then you'll have to surprise attack them. It may be a strategy for chasing them to the border to fight. If any of them cross the border, then let them be. The elders might be the most cowardliest. I'm not talking about us strong elders," IceClaw coughed and continued, "But the elders who influenced kits to thrash eachother's eyes out and warriors to claim random wars."
   "You mean GreatFog and SuperiorMist." SkunkPaw said. IceClaw didn't reply. FeatherStar knew this was her queue to leave. She headed towards the hut where SilverHeart and the others were. The Queens were in the very corner, chattering with excitement and fear. The kits were playing tag, and GlowHeart's kit, WhisperKit, was playing with a deerhide toy that SonicMoon had somehow gotten into the deerhide without going crazy himself.
   "DreamHeart, can you quiet the kits?" FeatherStar asked the blue and black striped Queen. She merely nodded and interrupted the kit's play, flicking her tail to tell them that they needed to quiet down and listen.
   "I have news on the... 'visitors'. ShortTail has described them as three greys and two whites with black markings. For the queens, I'm sure you understand what that means, and I'll leave it at that. Does anybody know if SilverHeart is in the cellar?" GlowHeart shook her head.
   "She said she needed to tell you something and she hurried off." She explained. As soon as she finished, SilverHeart slipped into the room. Then she noticed FeatherStar, and stiffened, her eyes fixed on the doorway.
   "Did you want to tell me something?" FeatherStar asked, flicking her tail to tell her that she was getting slightly annoyed with SilverHeart's sneakiness. SilverHeart shook her head.
   "Come speak to me outside, SilverHeart." She said, narrowing her eyes and watching SilverHeart as she exited the room. When they got outside, FeatherStar circled SilverHeart, waiting for the right time to pounce.
   "Exactly what were you doing outside? I don't want to waste my time because as who you now know as the Terrible Mists are gaining and the warriors and moving in as we speak, and SonicMoon needs to get ready for the war. I'm going to speak to you quickly so that I can move on." FeatherStar said, trying to calm herself.
   "Why wouldn't you just tell me what the five mists were in the first place? I'm the deputy and your keeping it between you and the elder! I needed to know, and if you weren't going to tell me, how else would I know? We're about to go under a clan war and I don't know a thing about this? Why didn't I know about the mists?"
   "Refer to them as the Terrible Mists. They attacked us many times before you joined. Only the queens, elders, and a few warriors understand who they are. I wouldn't tell you because if the kits overheard, they would get scared. I was going to explain after I told the queens which I did just now, but I'm sure you already know. Now excuse me, I have to go get the medicine cat ready for a war." FeatherStar excused herself and headed straight for the medicine cat den. SilverHeart scraped at the red dirt, trying to tire out the frustration in her paws. Sometimes FeatherStar was strict, but she knew this time it was her own fault. She should have listened to the leader's instructions and stayed with the kits and queens...


   Now what impression does this have on you, CreamKit?" RaccoonStar asked. CreamKit looked up.
   "If you don't follow your leader's instructions, then your plan may backfire."
   "Good job. Let's continue on in the story...


   FeatherStar tramped into the medicine den, glancing at the herb piles in every corner. In one corner, there was a moss pile lined with shedded animal fur and down feathers. A small grey shape that was dotted in leopard-style black splotches was lying on the moss pile, silhouetted by candlelight. FeatherStar figured that SonicMoon was asleep, so she wandered around the giant den. She was scared of touching the walls because the den was the oldest den in the clan territory and was in a terrible shape, so she stayed towards the middle of the den, but observed the herbs from a distance.
   She loved how brave medicine cats were, healing their clan and family, but she couldn't see how they would give up having a mate and kit forever. Remembering how much of a rush the clan was in, she scurried over to SonicMoon. The rustling of her feet awoke him, and he jumped up in surprise.
   "Yip~! FeatherStar, is that you? What are you doing here?" SonicMoon chattered, unusually hyper. FeatherStar remembered that he hadn't been in the commotion of the Five Terrible Mists. Although she heard IceClaw speak out to the sleek grey and black cat, when FeatherStar turned to see if he was really there, the only thing she saw was the flicker of a candlelight in the medicine den.
   "Just now we discovered five black dots on the horizon which I'm sure is giving you a dark impression at the moment, as if they really are listening and gaining on us at the moment, or as if you're already building up and idea on who the five black dots are and the idea is giving you shivers. But yes, SkunkPaw has delivered a message from ShortTail that he had seen to it to find out what the dots were, and they are indeed who we are thinking of. In case you haven't caught up to what i'm saying, we're looking at the Five Terrible Mists of MistClan, including MistyStar herself. Now get ready for a string of injured warriors."

The 5 Terrible Mists--Prologue&ChapterOne

 Moonlight Clan ---- The Five Terrible Mists ----                                                             
                                                      PROLOGUE
PantherPaw awoke early in the morning to the sound of shrieks. He propped himself up on his moss bed
and strained his ears. There wasn't another sound. Still curious, he cautiously crept over to the open
archway of his hut and peered out. Nobody was there. Sure that nothing was going on, PantherPaw
calmly walked out of the hut. As soon as he did, he was toppled by a cat! Not a large one like
GiantBramble, or a medium one like himself, but a teeny-tiny one. It was AstralKit!
    "What are you doing up so early in the morning?" PantherPaw asked, washing AstralKit's forehead.
AstralKit didnt have to answer, because PantherPaw immediately heard the sound of bells getting closer.
Another kitten peeked out from the edge of PantherPaw's hut.
    "PantherPaw! Good morning!" The kit said, revealing herself as LittleKit. She dashed infront of
AstralKit and pounced on PantherPaw. They all laughed at LittleKit's silliness. Little did they know what
else would happen on this day that was now masked by the happiness of family.
                      
                                CHAPTER ONE
The squeals and shrieks of the siblings playing awoke much of the clan, too. But nobody blamed them.
FeatherStar and the Elders stared into the distance at 5 black dots that were slowly growing larger.
    "What is it?" Asked SilverHeart. Featherstar motioned for her to be quiet and she crept towards the
fence with IceClaw.
    "Is it them?" FeatherStar asked IceClaw. He didn't respond. The Warriors bared their teeth and
scratched the red dirt with their paws.
    "Do not be fooled yet, but I think it is wise to prepare if it is who we think it is." IceClaw replied.
    "Who do we think it is?!" SilverHeart asked again, very impatiently. IceClaw only turned his head.
    "Warriors, prepare yourself, SilverHeart, take the kits to the hidden cellar. Apprentices, be on
watchout at every corner of the village. Queens follow SilverHeart and the kits. SonicMoon, prepare to
apply medicine to hurt cats. FeatherStar, come with me." GrayFlower and her daughter LovelyRose hid
seperately from the Queens and kits. FeatherStar and IceClaw disappeared into the Elders' hut. It was
long and narrow, and they sit in the very back to make sure nobody was listening to their conversation.
    But that didn't stop anybody. SilverHeart wandered out of the hut, telling the Queens to make sure
nobody ventured outside of the hut. She looked over the horizon to make sure the five dots weren't
nearing the village just yet. As soon as she made sure it was the right time to do so, she charged towards
the narrow hut. Instead of heading for the door, she switched lanes and followed voices to the very
back of it. She pressed her ears against the bamboo walls just incase they decided to whisper.
    "I didn't think they would come this soon. MistClan has always planned to get back at us, but nobody
has ever tried their plan this soon. They should know that we're ready." An old crackling voice said.
    "But they probably don't. We are talking about MistClan aren't we? They never do anything right. They
want it done as soon as possible or it doesn't satisfy their hunger for payback. Their Elders are foolish.
They grew up there, they taught MistClan how to act. Only five people are the sources of MistClan's
foolishness. Their two Elders, their two stubborn warriors, and the most stubborn in all the land..."
FeatherStar was cut off when IceClaw held up a paw.
    "MistyStar." They ended. This scared SilverHeart, because she too dealed with MistyStar times before.
Nobody knew why she kept coming back. She said she wanted to be friends and allies again, but
MoonlightClan understood what she meant when she said that. Although she might seem harmless and
so very innocent, evil lies deep within. Each day that MistyStar came to request friendship was followed
by a cat that threatened to kill everyone that lied in the village. But as soon as they rested their eyes on
GiantBramble and BlueStripe, they either were ripped to shreds, scared to death, or ran away screaming.
    They thought the day would never come when they actually brought all five of their secret weapons.

RaccoonStar :

RaccoonStar is not listed in the Moonlight Clan members list above, but he is in the pictures because he will be "narrating" the Moonlight Clan stories. He is an, er, storyteller with wings. Moonlight Clan stories are stories about seperate cats, the entire clan, events, or anything else that happens in Moonlight Clan.

Elders :

IceClaw and GrayFlower (the two Elders) are mates from Moonlight Clan.

IceClaw is the male and GrayFlower is the female. IceClaw has a grumpy yet kindhearted attitude. He is a retired Warrior. GrayFlower is a retired Queen with a soft and sweet attitude. She loves telling stories about her daughter who grew up in Moonlight Clan and joined Dawn Clan when she was eight moons. Six moons later she became a queen and had a kit named DaisyKit. Her mate, a warrior, told her and DaisyKit many stories about the battle, friendships, and even enemies he had while out on the battlefield. Then, later on after her mate was killed in battle, GrayFlower's daughter had told the stories to the other kits and had also came to visit Moonlight Clan to tell the Moonlight kits about her mate's stories. Then, the curious kits that she had told the story to became Warriors because of their idol, DaisyKit's father. SkunkPaw, ShortTail, BlueStripe, GiantBramble. The ones who truly found something they loved, and held onto it.

The Siblings :

LittleKit and AstralKit are siblings, kits of RainyHeart (mother) and SkunkPaw (father). When they visited kits from other clans with her mother and/or/ the rest of the clan, they were teased because of RainyHeart's fur color and SkunkPaw's smell. AstralKit replied with the simplicity of "Everybody is different, and nobody is perfect". LittleKit, on the other hand, found ways to mischievously get back at the other kits. With her genius mind and her energetic personality, she plotted against them. She once soaked one kit in water with a falling bucket, another with a bad-tasting fish, and another with a wind up mouse that lead into a small hole and never came out again (It tormented the kit, and she was determined to get the mouse, so she stayed up the entire day pawing at the hole in hope that the mouse would roll out again). LittleKit and AstralKit were not rivaling siblings but loved eachother dearly. They played in the fields and with the other Moonlight kits all the time, and they whined when they were seperated. Even in very serious times, they sticked together.

The Blue Cats :

DreamFlower (Queen) and BlueStripe (Warrior) are mates that stand out from the rest of the clan. Unlike the other cats with grey, brown, or black pelts, they had blue pelts with black stripes. DreamFlower was the prettiest in the clan, and BlueStripe was the toughest. Their kit, AzureKit, was named because of her blue pelt that was very similar to her parents'. Knowing AzureKit's parents, nobody teased her. She was very popular with the Moonlight kits but wasn't perfect. She was clumsy and always seemed to forget where everything was. She easily lost many things, but with the help of others, she reclaimed them. She was an only child, but her best friend WhisperKit always seemed like a sister to her. WhisperKit supported her ideas, cared for her when she was hurt or sick, made sure she got everything done right, and most importantly helped her figure out where everything was. AzureKit always found ways to pay WhisperKit back for all the nice things WhisperKit had done for her. Once she had wrapped up catnip and put a big bow on it, then given it to WhisperKit on her birthday. Another time AzureKit had set up a nice picnic on a field within the Moonlight Clan territory when WhisperKit was sick. AzureKit's great friendship came in handy when she was catnapped by another clan's warrior. When WhisperKit found out what happened, she quickly reported it to the rest of the clan. In no time, FeatherStar had sent out all of her warriors and fought MistClan's warriors. Moonlight Clan won and threatened to kill the rest of Mist Clan if they didn't hand over AzureKit. They did as Moonlight Clan said, and soon AzureKit was safe at home with the rest of Moonlight Clan.

The Winged Cats:

Apart from FeatherStar and RaccoonStar, there is only one family with wings. GlowHeart (Queen ; Mother) ShiverMoon (Warrior ; Father) WhisperKit (Kit ; Daughter). Every family member has wings. They are a very religious family and pray to the elemental spirits every half moon (AvalancheSpirit, FlameSpirit, HurricaneSpirit, ForestSpirit, and TsunamiSpirit). They worship the Moonlight Clan spirits who have unidentified looks or personalities but founded Moonlight Clan and created the moon, stars, and light of the universe (MoonSpirit, ShadowSpirit, LightSpirit, StarSpirit, and NightSpirit). They did not not believe that their wings were a medical or special condition but a gift from the Moonlight Spirits. The legend of StarSpirit said that he could make things fly ; At the beginning of Earth, the stars were on the ground. StarSpirit gathered them all and lifted them into the sky, and made them rocket, create pictures, and even tell stories. If he could make stars fly, then why not give wings to animals and other creatures of Earth? It was one reason to cherish the Moonlight Spirits and worship StarSpirit and the others. GlowHeart was a mysterious cat but was loved and supported in Moonlight Clan. She had inspired the kits and other members to pray and worship the spirits. She taught WhisperKit the legends and names of sacred spirits and gods of nature and the universe. WhisperKit was fascinated and joined the Elders when they told their stories. Her favorite stories were about the Moonlight Spirits, and her favorite spirit was NightSpirit. NightSpirit was inspired by the moon and the sun, but hated it when she was bothered by the light and the sun when she tried to sleep. She took a piece of charcoal that FlameSpirit had lended to her and colored the sky black. MoonSpirit lifted his moon again and StarSpirit picked up the stars and threw them to the sky. Soon NightSpirit realized that night also caused chaos to lively animals who stayed up most of the night. Owls flew into trees and cats couldn't find prey, so NightSpirit gave them eyes of the night. Soon, many animals were able to see in the night. THE END
